D*FACE New World Disorder at StoleSpace

Kid in a candy store isn’t an expression that I associate with myself  ever but today I really did feel like one when I visited StolenSpace to experience  New World Disorder before its final day tomorrow…

This exhibition really does feel like the end of an era, with all of D*Face’s work laid out to view before being packed away and replaced by paper scraps and faded paint spots on the walls. StolenSpace are moving when this show finishes and this is evident everywhere you look, the mere opening of the doors was the first clue, the initial excitement I felt when I entered the studio and cast my eyes on the huge collection of art related items from over the years was quickly replaced by the sobering thought that all this artwork is really just saying goodbye, kind of sad really.

There is such an immense amount of eye candy to take in, so I did get lost in time in the hour and half I was there. When the gallery assistants started locking the doors and packing up I still hadn’t seen all I wanted to see and missed the exhibition pieces in the adjacent gallery with the baseball bats and helmets…  but tomorrow’s another day.
